From its far west vantage point on Eleventh Avenue, the rooftop bar at the Ink48 hotel has a spectacular, 360º view.  You'll miss some of New York's best known buildings, but the unobstructed view of the Hudson more than compensates.  It is a trek to get here: the nearest subway is on Eighth Avenue, and this is not the most pleasant area in the City to walk through.  In the summer of 2010, when Press opened, the lines were long on warm weekend nights; we suggest arriving as soon as possible after opening time.  It draws a mixed but generally young crowd, and feels much less stuffy than comparable hotel bars on the east side.
