Bentley Hotel Rooftop Bar and Restaurant

The Bentley Hotel, on the East River at 62nd Street, is so inaccessible that its rooftop bar and restaurant is visited almost exclusively by hotel guests. There is a very good view east and south of Roosevelt Island, the Queensboro Bridge and part of lower Manhattan, but only from a small section of the narrow outdoor terrace. The main part of the bar faces west and has sights of a singularly uninteresting section of the Upper East Side. The decor is dated and the furnishings are poorly maintained. Unless you are a guest at the Bentley or are nearby and in desperately need of a drink (not an unreasonable desire given the area), bypass this venue.
