Upstairs at The Kimberly

Proprietors of New York City's rooftop bars frequently trade on impressive views and neglect the many small touches that make a space feel comfortable.  Not so at the rooftop at the Kimberly Hotel.  This extremely well appointed bar has real ivy growing on the walls, an outdoor fireplace, and thoughtful design features such as a metal reveal to the honed wood floors.  Although the view is not panoramic, you'll feel part of the hotel's east side neighborhood, and there are excellent sights of the Chrysler building.  The bar loses neither its class nor its views in winter:  the main area is covered, while a second outdoor space is kept open for those who want to venture out with their drinks.
