STK Rooftop

STK, a restaurant in the Meatpacking District, attempts to bring downtown sexiness to a steak restaurant (a strategy best explained in their rather ridiculous commercial). The food here has always been good but probably not worth the premium paid for the concept. Now that they have a rooftop, however, things are different. Right next to the High Line, the roof has an unobstructed view of the Hudson bordered to the north by the Standard Hotel. It is the first rooftop we've reviewed that combines views of this quality with a full dinner menu. You'll need to be prepared to drop some serious cash, and we caution about coming here for drinks only: the cocktails are expensive ($16) and not even any good.
